84 Lumber Celebrates 60th Anniversary with New Stores, New Initiatives and National Recognition
EIGHTY FOUR, Pa. (November 14, 2016) – 84 Lumber today announced that it is commemorating its 60th Anniversary with internal celebrations in its 250+ stores and Team Headquarters.
84 Lumber is capping a milestone year that saw the company achieve its best first quarter in more than a decade. Eight years after staring down bankruptcy during the housing market crash, 84 Lumber is leaner, flexible and more diversified than ever before. This year, the company announced plans to open dozens of new stores, including an expansion into the western United States. They also closed on a new $350 million Senior Secured Term Loan B that is being used to enhance future product and service capabilities.
This comes on the heels of brand new initiatives like Tiny Living by 84 Lumber, a new line of portable tiny homes that has garnered international recognition for the company.
The media and industry have also recognized 84 Lumber’s preeminent position in the market. Forbes magazine recently ranked 84 Lumber #167 on its 2016 list of America’s Best Mid-Sized Employers.
