City of Wildwood Boardwalk
EIGHTY FOUR, Pa. (Sept. 24, 2025) – 84 Lumber is proud to have worked with the City of Wildwood, New Jersey, on its City of Wildwood Boardwalk project. The company was able to successfully source cumaru wood – also known as Brazilian Teak, a rare and exotic hardwood native to the Amazon rainforest – after extensive collaboration with vendors across Brazil, Peru, Guyana, and Canada. Ultimately, the perfect specimen was obtained in Brazil.
The three-year, multimillion-dollar project was made possible after 84 Lumber placed a bid through OMNIA Partners. The company developed a partnership with OMNIA two years ago and quickly became one of its preferred members. After working with U.S. and international government customs agencies, 84 Lumber associates worked to ensure materials were released promptly.
“The City of Wildwood has been working with 84 Lumber through the entirety of the reconstruction of the Wildwood Boardwalk,” said Wildwood Mayor Ernie Troiano, Jr. “84 Lumber has provided quality material, assisted in overcoming supply chain hurdles, and expedited the process to ensure the most savings to the City of Wildwood taxpayers.”
The project was a remarkable effort that showed 84 Lumber’s resiliency, flexibility, and commitment to excellence. While the project encountered a few unforeseen challenges, including environmental shifts in the Amazon due to effects of El Niño, regional wildfires, and temporary disruptions at key ports, 84 Lumber worked proactively to navigate these conditions. The team coordinated across international supply chains, rerouted shipments when necessary, and stayed closely aligned with environmental and customs processes to ensure materials reached the Cape May, New Jersey, yard.

The Wildwood Boardwalk project not only strengthened 84 Lumber’s relationship with OMNIA Partners but also built a strong foundation for ongoing work with the City of Wildwood.
